Country Ranch Green Beans ‘n Potatoes with Bacon
Description
Tender green beans and soft potatoes cooked with crispy bacon and ranch seasoning for a rich, smoky, and herby country-style side dish. Perfect with chicken, steak, or as a hearty comfort meal.
Ingredients
- 4 cups fresh green beans (trimmed)
- 3–4 medium potatoes (peeled and diced)
- 6 slices bacon (chopped)
- 1 small onion (diced)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 packet ranch seasoning mix (or 2 tablespoons homemade ranch seasoning)
- 1 cup chicken broth (or water)
- 2 tablespoons butter (optional, for richness)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the Bacon
In a large skillet or pot over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy.
Remove bacon and set aside, leaving the bacon grease in the pan. - Sauté Onion & Garlic
Add diced onion to the bacon grease and cook until soft (about 3 minutes).
Stir in minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds. - Add Potatoes & Green Beans
Add diced potatoes and green beans to the pot. Stir to coat in the flavorful bacon grease. - Season & Simmer
Sprinkle in the ranch seasoning mix.
Pour in the chicken broth.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 20–25 minutes until potatoes and beans are tender. - Finish the Dish
Stir in cooked bacon and butter (optional).
Taste and season with salt and pepper if needed. - Serve
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
