Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

These ultra-chewy chocolate chip cookies have crisp golden edges, soft centers, and rich chocolate in every bite. Perfect for baking once and craving forever!

Ingredients (Makes about 24 cookies)

  • 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200g) brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2½ cups (315g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1½ to 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and glossy.
  2. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
Do not overmix — this keeps the cookies soft.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (optional but recommended for thicker cookies).
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  9. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough and place them about 2 inches apart.
  10. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are golden and centers look slightly soft.
  11. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Tips for Perfect Cookies

  • For extra chewy cookies, use more brown sugar than white sugar.
  • For bakery-style thick cookies, chill dough overnight.
  • Sprinkle a little sea salt on top before baking for extra flavor.
