Crispy Corn Cheese Bites

Golden, cheesy, crunchy bites — perfect as a snack or party appetizer

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups corn kernels (fresh, canned drained, or frozen thawed)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs (optional, for extra crisp)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • 2–3 tablespoons milk (if needed)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

1. Mix the Base

In a large bowl, combine:

  • Corn
  • Cheddar cheese
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Flour
  • Egg
  • Garlic powder
  • Paprika
  • Salt & pepper

Mix well. If the mixture feels too thick, add 1–2 tablespoons milk.

2. Shape the Bites

Scoop small portions (about 1 tablespoon each) and roll into balls or flatten slightly into small patties.

(Optional: Roll in breadcrumbs for extra crunch.)

3. Fry Until Crispy

Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
Fry bites in batches for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.

Transfer to paper towels to drain excess oil.

Optional Air Fryer Method

  • Spray bites lightly with oil
  • Air fry at 375°F / 190°C for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway

Optional Oven Method

  • Bake at 400°F / 200°C for 15–18 minutes, flipping halfway

  • Add chopped jalapeños for a spicy kick
