Sweet Potatoes in the Microwave
A quick, easy, and healthy way to enjoy perfectly soft sweet potatoes in minutes!
Ingredients:
- 1–2 medium sweet potatoes
- Optional toppings:
- Butter
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Cinnamon
- Honey or maple syrup
- Olive oil
Instructions:
- Wash the Sweet Potatoes
Rinse the sweet potatoes well under running water and scrub off any dirt. Dry them with a towel. - Pierce the Skin
Using a fork, poke each sweet potato 5–6 times all over. This allows steam to escape while cooking. - Microwave
Place the sweet potatoes on a microwave-safe plate.
Microwave on high for 5 minutes. - Flip & Continue Cooking
Carefully flip the sweet potatoes and microwave for another 3–5 minutes, until they are fork-tender. - Rest
Let them rest for 1–2 minutes (they’ll continue cooking inside). - Serve
Slice open, fluff the inside with a fork, and add your favorite toppings.
