Cheesy Baked Ground Beef Casserole
A rich, juicy ground beef casserole topped with golden melted cheese — easy, comforting, and family-favorite!
Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
- 1 large onion, finely diced
- 2 tomatoes, diced (or 1 can diced tomatoes, drained)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- ½ teaspoon cumin
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
For the topping:
- 1½–2 cups shredded cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or a mix)
- Butter for greasing the baking dish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and sauté until soft.
- Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up, until browned.
- Stir in tomatoes, salt, pepper, ginger, coriander, cumin, and paprika.
- Simmer for 5–7 minutes until thickened and flavorful.
- Transfer the beef mixture to a greased baking dish.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the top.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes until cheese is melted and lightly golden.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
