 Cheesy Baked Ground Beef Casserole

A rich, juicy ground beef casserole topped with golden melted cheese — easy, comforting, and family-favorite!

 Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 1 large onion, finely diced
  • 2 tomatoes, diced (or 1 can diced tomatoes, drained)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

For the topping:

  • 1½–2 cups shredded cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or a mix)
  • Butter for greasing the baking dish (optional)

 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and sauté until soft.
  3. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  4. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up, until browned.
  5. Stir in tomatoes, salt, pepper, ginger, coriander, cumin, and paprika.
  6. Simmer for 5–7 minutes until thickened and flavorful.
  7. Transfer the beef mixture to a greased baking dish.
  8. Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the top.
  9. Bake for 15–20 minutes until cheese is melted and lightly golden.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
