3-Ingredient Pan-Fried Halloumi
Ingredients
- 1 block halloumi cheese
- 1β2 tablespoons olive oil
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Remove the halloumi from the package and slice it into medium-thick pieces (about 1β1.5 cm).
- Heat the olive oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat until hot but not smoking.
- Place the halloumi slices in the pan in a single layer. Do not overcrowd the pan.
- Cook for about 2β3 minutes on each side, or until the cheese develops a golden, crispy crust.
- Flip gently and cook the other side until equally golden.
- Remove from the pan and serve immediately with fresh lemon wedges. Squeeze lemon juice over the halloumi just before eating for extra flavor.
Serving Suggestions
Serve pan-fried halloumi as an appetizer, with a fresh salad, alongside grilled vegetables, or in sandwiches and wraps. Best enjoyed hot while itβs crispy on the outside and soft on the inside
