Ingredients

  • 1 block halloumi cheese
  • 1–2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Remove the halloumi from the package and slice it into medium-thick pieces (about 1–1.5 cm).
  2. Heat the olive oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat until hot but not smoking.
  3. Place the halloumi slices in the pan in a single layer. Do not overcrowd the pan.
  4. Cook for about 2–3 minutes on each side, or until the cheese develops a golden, crispy crust.
  5. Flip gently and cook the other side until equally golden.
  6. Remove from the pan and serve immediately with fresh lemon wedges. Squeeze lemon juice over the halloumi just before eating for extra flavor.

Serving Suggestions
Serve pan-fried halloumi as an appetizer, with a fresh salad, alongside grilled vegetables, or in sandwiches and wraps. Best enjoyed hot while it’s crispy on the outside and soft on the inside
