Crispy Deep-Fried Marshmallows: The Ultimate Gooey Delight

 Ingredients

  • 20–24 large marshmallows
  • Wooden skewers or lollipop sticks (optional, for dipping or frying)

 For the Batter

  • 1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 large egg
  • ¾ cup (180 ml) milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

 For Frying

  • Vegetable oil, for deep frying

 Instructions

  1. Prepare the marshmallows
    • Insert a skewer or stick into each marshmallow if using.
    • Place marshmallows in the freezer for 20–30 minutes (this helps prevent melting too fast).
  2. Make the batter
    • In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
    • Add the egg, milk, and vanilla.
    • Whisk until smooth and slightly thick.
  3. Heat the oil
    • Heat oil to 175°C / 350°F in a deep pot or fryer.
  4. Coat and fry
    • Dip each marshmallow into the batter, coating completely.
    • Carefully place into hot oil.
    • Fry for 10–15 seconds, turning once, until golden and crispy.
  5. Drain and serve
    • Remove and drain on paper towels.
    • Serve immediately while hot and gooey inside

  • Caramel drizzle
  • Crushed cookies or sprinkles
