Ham & Cheese Baked Tartines
Golden, melty, and ultra-comforting, these baked tartines are the perfect balance of crispy bread and cheesy goodness
Ideal for a quick dinner, a cozy TV night, or an easy, no-stress lunch.
Ingredients
For the tartines:
- 8 slices rustic country bread
- 200 g cooked ham, diced
- 200 g grated cheese (Emmental, Comté, or Mozzarella)
- 100 ml thick cream
- 1 tbsp mustard (optional)
- Salt & black pepper, to taste
- A pinch of nutmeg (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C / 350°F.
- Place the bread slices on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix the cream with the mustard (if using), salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
- Add the diced ham and half of the grated cheese. Mix well.
- Spread the mixture generously over each bread slice.
- Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden.
- For an extra crispy top, finish with 1–2 minutes under the broiler.
