Mini Apple Fritter Waffle Donuts
Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg (optional)
- ¼ tsp salt
Wet Ingredients
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp melted butter (or vegetable oil)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Apples
- 1 cup apple, peeled and finely diced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work best)
For the Glaze (Optional but Recommended)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tbsp milk
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat
- Preheat your waffle maker or mini waffle donut maker.
- Lightly grease with nonstick spray.
- Mix Dry Ingredients
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Mix Wet Ingredients
- In another bowl, whisk sugar, milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
- Combine
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients.
- Gently fold until just combined (don’t overmix).
- Fold in the diced apples.
- Cook
- Spoon batter into the waffle donut molds or waffle iron (don’t overfill).
- Cook for 3–5 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Cool Slightly
- Remove and let cool for a few minutes on a wire rack.
- Glaze
- Mix powdered sugar, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon until smooth.
- Drizzle or dip the warm waffle donuts into the glaze.

- Best served warm
- Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with caramel sauce
