Strawberry Banana Pudding Dream
Ingredients
For the Crust
- 2 cups crushed vanilla wafers (about 60 wafers)
- 6 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar (optional)
For the Creamy Filling
- 1 package (3.4 oz / 96 g) instant vanilla pudding mix
- 1 ½ cups cold milk
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream (cold)
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Fruit Layers
- 2 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 ½–2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
Optional Toppings
- Whipped cream
- Extra vanilla wafer crumbs
- Sliced strawberries or bananas
Instructions
Make the Crust
- In a bowl, mix crushed vanilla wafers, melted butter, and sugar (if using).
- Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×9-inch dish or individual cups.
- Refrigerate for 15–20 minutes to set.
Prepare the Pudding Layer
- Whisk the vanilla pudding mix with cold milk until thickened.
- In another bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the pudding until smooth and fluffy.
Assemble the Dessert
- Layer banana slices evenly over the crust.
- Add a layer of strawberries.
- Spread the pudding mixture on top.
- Repeat layers if desired, finishing with pudding.
Chill
- Refrigerate for at least 2–4 hours (overnight is best) for perfect texture and flavor.
Tips & Variations
- Brush banana slices with a little lemon juice to prevent browning.
- Use banana pudding instead of vanilla for extra banana flavor.
- Turn it into a no-bake trifle by layering in a glass bowl or jars.
