Philly Cheesesteak Stuffed Cheesy Breadsticks
Ingredients
For the Filling:
- 1 lb thinly sliced beef (sirloin or shaved steak)
- 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 1 small green bell pepper, thinly sliced (optional)
- 1 tsp garlic, minced
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
For the Breadsticks:
- 1 can refrigerated pizza dough or homemade dough (about 16 oz)
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp Italian seasoning
- Extra shredded cheese for topping
Instructions
- Cook the Filling:
- Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add onions (and bell peppers if using) and sauté until soft, about 3–4 minutes.
- Add the thinly sliced beef and garlic. Cook until beef is browned and cooked through, about 5–7 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper. Remove from heat and stir in 1 cup shredded cheese. Let it cool slightly.
- Prepare the Dough:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle about 12×8 inches.
- Assemble the Breadsticks:
- Spread the beef and cheese mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log, starting from the long side. Pinch edges to seal.
- Cut into 8–10 equal pieces and place cut-side up on a greased baking sheet.
- Add Garlic Butter:
- Mix melted butter with garlic powder and Italian seasoning. Brush over the breadsticks.
- Sprinkle extra shredded cheese on top if desired.
- Bake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15–20 minutes, or until golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve:
- Enjoy warm with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce!
