Ham and Cheese Puff Pastry Pocket
Ingredients:
– 1 sheet puff pastry (about 250 g), thawed
– 150 g (5 oz) ham, thinly sliced or diced
– 150 g (5 oz) cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or Gruyère), grated
– 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
– Salt and pepper to taste
– Optional: chopped herbs (parsley, thyme, etc.) for garnish
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Roll out puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut into 4-6 squares (depending on size).
3. Place ham and cheese in the center of each square. Leave a 1-inch border.
4. Fold pastry over filling to form triangles or rectangles. Press edges to seal.
5. Brush tops with egg wash. Cut a small slit in each pocket.
6. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
7. Serve warm and enjoy!
