⏱ Prep & Cook Time
Prep: 10 minutes
Cook: 20 minutes
Serves: 3–4
Ingredients
- 1 (14-oz) package smoked sausage, sliced into ¼-inch rounds
- 8 oz pasta (penne, fettuccine, or rotini work well)
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
1. Cook the pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. Brown the sausage
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced smoked sausage and cook for 4–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and lightly crispy on the edges. Remove excess grease if needed.
3. Make the Cajun Alfredo sauce
Lower the heat to medium-low. Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine with the sausage. Add the Cajun seasoning and let the sauce gently simmer for 3–5 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly.
4. Add cheese
Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce becomes smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
5. Combine and serve
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss until evenly coated in the sauce. Heat for 1–2 minutes until everything is warmed through.
