Secret Ingredient Meatloaf
Moist, flavorful, and incredibly easy — the secret is the onion soup mix!
This classic American meatloaf is juicy on the inside, perfectly seasoned, and topped with a sweet and tangy glaze. A comfort-food favorite the whole family will love.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet Lipton Onion Soup Mix (secret ingredient)
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
Optional Glaze:
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce or vinegar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, add the ground beef.
- Add onion soup mix, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, ketchup, and seasonings.
- Gently mix until just combined (do not overmix).
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased baking dish or on a lined sheet pan.
- Mix glaze ingredients and spread evenly over the top (optional but recommended).
- Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until fully cooked and lightly caramelized on top.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
