Slow Cooker Cranberry Chicken

Slow Cooker Cranberry Chicken

This Slow Cooker Cranberry Chicken is a delicious sweet-and-tangy dinner that takes just 5 minutes to prepare. Tender, juicy chicken slowly cooked in a rich cranberry sauce makes this an easy and comforting meal for the holidays or any weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 can (14 oz / 400 g) whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 1/2 cup French dressing or Catalina dressing
  • Cooked rice, mashed potatoes, or pasta, for serving

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of a slow cooker.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the cranberry sauce, onion soup mix, and French or Catalina dressing. Stir until well combined.
  3. Pour the cranberry mixture evenly over the chicken.
  4. Cover the slow cooker and cook on LOW for about 6 hours or on HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
  5. Serve the chicken over cooked rice, mashed potatoes, or pasta.
  6. Spoon plenty of the cranberry sauce over the chicken before serving.

Tips

  • For extra flavor, sear the chicken breasts in a skillet for a few minutes before adding them to the slow cooker.
  • If the chicken breasts are very thick, they can be cut in half horizontally for more even cooking.
  • Make sure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  • The cranberry sauce is naturally sweet and tangy, while the dressing adds richness and extra flavor.

Serving Suggestion

Serve this tender cranberry chicken with mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta and spoon the sweet cranberry sauce generously over the top.
