Grilled Cheese Roll-Ups

Golden, crispy on the outside and irresistibly gooey on the inside, these Grilled Cheese Roll-Ups are a fun twist on the classic comfort food. Perfect for kids, parties, or an easy snack, they’re quick to make and dangerously delicious.

Ingredients

Bread

  • 8–10 slices soft white sandwich bread, crusts removed
(Fresh, soft bread works best. Wonder Bread or similar brands roll easily without tearing. Soft whole wheat bread can also be used.)

Cheese

  • 8–10 slices melting cheese, such as:
    • Cheddar Cheese – sharp, tangy, and classic (medium or sharp recommended)
    • American, mozzarella, Colby Jack, or Swiss also work well

For Cooking

  • 2–3 tablespoons butter, melted (or softened)
  • Optional: garlic powder or dried parsley for extra flavor

Instructions

  1. Flatten the Bread
Using a rolling pin, flatten each slice of bread until thin and flexible.
  2. Add the Cheese
Place one slice of cheese on each flattened bread slice. Trim if needed so it fits neatly.
  3. Roll It Up
Tightly roll the bread around the cheese, pressing gently to seal.
  4. Butter the Roll-Ups
Brush the outside of each roll-up with melted butter. Sprinkle with garlic powder or parsley if desired.
  5. Cook
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
Place roll-ups seam-side down and cook, turning occasionally, until golden brown on all sides and the cheese is fully melted (about 4–6 minutes).
  6. Serve Warm
Remove from heat and serve immediately.

Serving Suggestions

  • Serve with tomato soup, marinara, or ketchup for dipping
  • Great as an appetizer, lunchbox item, or quick snack
  • Slice in half for party-friendly finger food

Tips & Variations

  • Add ham, turkey, or cooked bacon before rolling for extra flavor
  • Use flavored cheeses (pepper jack, smoked cheddar) for a twist
  • Cook in an air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for 5–6 minutes, turning once
