Mississippi Lil’ Smokies (Crowd-Favorite Appetizer)
These buttery, savory little sausages are incredibly easy and always disappear fast—perfect for parties, game days, or potlucks!
Ingredients
- 2 packages (14 oz each) Lil’ Smokies (cocktail sausages)
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, sliced into pats
- 1 packet (1 oz) Ranch seasoning mix (dry)
- 1 packet (1 oz) Au Jus gravy mix (dry)
Instructions
Slow Cooker Method (Recommended):
- Place the Lil’ Smokies in a slow cooker.
- Sprinkle the Ranch seasoning and Au Jus mix evenly over the sausages.
- Top with butter pats.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 3–4 hours or HIGH for 1½–2 hours, stirring once or twice until hot and glossy.
Stovetop Method:
- Add all ingredients to a large skillet or saucepan.
- Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until butter is melted and sausages are heated through (about 20–25 minutes).
Serving Suggestions
- Serve warm straight from the slow cooker with toothpicks.
- Great alongside sliders, wings, or veggie trays.
