Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or thinly sliced steak
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tube refrigerated crescent roll dough or biscuit dough
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and bell peppers, then sauté for 4–5 minutes until softened.
  3. Add the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Drain excess grease if needed.
  5. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Let everything cook together for 2 minutes.
  6. Spread the beef mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  7. Layer the provolone cheese slices over the meat mixture, then sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top.
  8. Unroll the crescent dough and place it over the cheesy filling. Pinch seams together if necessary.
  9. Brush the top with melted butter for a golden crust.
  10. Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and cooked through.
  11. Let the bake rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
