Philly Cheesesteak Bake
A hearty, cheesy, oven-baked twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak sandwich. This easy casserole is loaded with seasoned beef, sautéed peppers and onions, and melted cheese for the ultimate comfort-food dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef or thinly sliced steak
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 4 slices provolone cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tube refrigerated crescent roll dough or biscuit dough
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and bell peppers, then sauté for 4–5 minutes until softened.
- Add the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Drain excess grease if needed.
- Stir in Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Let everything cook together for 2 minutes.
- Spread the beef mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
- Layer the provolone cheese slices over the meat mixture, then sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top.
- Unroll the crescent dough and place it over the cheesy filling. Pinch seams together if necessary.
- Brush the top with melted butter for a golden crust.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and cooked through.
- Let the bake rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Tips

- Serve with fries, salad, or roasted vegetables.
