 Ingredients

  • 6 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cans (15 oz each) pork and beans
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained
  • 1 can (15 oz) butter beans, drained
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

 Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove part of the bacon for topping if desired, leaving a little grease in the pan.
  3. Add the diced onion to the skillet and cook for 3–4 minutes until soft and lightly golden.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine:
    • pork and beans
    • kidney beans
    • butter beans
    • brown sugar
    • ketchup
    • molasses
    • mustard
    • apple cider vinegar
    • garlic powder
    • black pepper
  5. Stir in the cooked onions and most of the bacon.
  6. Pour everything into a greased baking dish or casserole pan.
  7. Top with the remaining bacon and bake uncovered for 2 to 2½ hours, stirring once halfway through, until thick, bubbly, and caramelized around the edges.
