Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 bottle (18 oz) Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (optional, for balance)
Instructions:
- Lightly grease the crockpot with non-stick cooking spray.
- Place the chicken breasts in a single layer in the bottom of the crockpot. Season lightly with salt and black pepper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, and apple cider vinegar (if using).
- Pour the sauce mixture evenly over the chicken, ensuring all pieces are well coated.
- Cover and cook:
- On LOW for 4–6 hours, or
- On HIGH for 2–3 hours
until the chicken is tender and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- For shredded chicken, remove the chicken from the crockpot and shred using two forks. Return the shredded chicken to the sauce and stir well.
For whole chicken breasts, serve directly with extra sauce spooned on top.
