Ingredients

For the Biscuits

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk or buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries

For the Vanilla Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Dough

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Add the cold butter and cut it into the flour mixture using a pastry cutter or your fingertips until it resembles coarse crumbs.

Pour in the milk and vanilla extract, then gently mix until the dough just comes together. Fold in the blueberries carefully so they don’t burst too much.

Step 2: Shape the Biscuits

Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Pat it into a thick rectangle about 1 inch thick.

Cut using a biscuit cutter or glass and place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet. Gather scraps and repeat until all dough is used.

Step 3: Bake

Bake for 12–15 minutes or until the tops are lightly golden and the biscuits are fluffy.

Let them cool slightly before glazing.

Step 4: Make the Glaze

Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over warm biscuits.
