Creamy Chicken Noodle Casserole
Ingredients
- 12 oz egg noodles, cooked and drained
- 3 cups cooked shredded chicken
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt & black pepper to taste
- 1 cup frozen peas or mixed vegetables (optional)
- 1/2 cup crushed buttery crackers or breadcrumbs (optional topping)
- 2 tablespoons melted butter (if using topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix together:
- cooked noodles
- shredded chicken
- sour cream
- cream of chicken soup
- milk
- garlic powder, onion powder
- salt & pepper
- 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
- (optional) peas or vegetables
- Stir everything until well combined and creamy.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top.
- (Optional) Mix crushed crackers with melted butter and sprinkle over the top for a crispy crust.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, until hot, bubbly, and golden on top.
- Let it sit for 5–10 minutes before serving so it sets nicely.
Tips
- You can use rotisserie chicken for faster prep.
- Add mushrooms or corn for extra flavor.
- For extra creaminess, add a little cream cheese.
