 Creamy Chicken Noodle Casserole

 Ingredients

  • 12 oz egg noodles, cooked and drained
  • 3 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup frozen peas or mixed vegetables (optional)
  • 1/2 cup crushed buttery crackers or breadcrumbs (optional topping)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (if using topping)

 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together:
    • cooked noodles
    • shredded chicken
    • sour cream
    • cream of chicken soup
    • milk
    • garlic powder, onion powder
    • salt & pepper
    • 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
    • (optional) peas or vegetables
  3. Stir everything until well combined and creamy.
  4. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top.
  6. (Optional) Mix crushed crackers with melted butter and sprinkle over the top for a crispy crust.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes, until hot, bubbly, and golden on top.
  8. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes before serving so it sets nicely.

 Tips

  • You can use rotisserie chicken for faster prep.
  • Add mushrooms or corn for extra flavor.
  • For extra creaminess, add a little cream cheese.
