Orange Dreamsicle Sala
A light, fluffy, and nostalgic dessert salad inspired by the classic orange creamsicle. This no-bake treat is creamy, citrusy, and perfect for potlucks, holidays, or summer gatherings.
Ingredients
1 (3 oz) box orange Jell-O
Provides the bright orange color and citrus flavor.
1 (3.4 oz) box instant vanilla pudding mix
Adds creaminess and a smooth vanilla base.
1 cup boiling water
Helps dissolve the gelatin completely.
1 cup cold water
1 (8 oz) container Cool Whip, thawed
Gives the salad its light, fluffy texture.
1 (15 oz) can mandarin oranges, drained
Adds fresh citrus bites and sweetness.
1 (8 oz) can crushed pineapple, well drained
Enhances flavor and adds a subtle tropical note.
(Optional)
1 cup mini marshmallows – for extra sweetness and texture
½ cup cottage cheese – traditional addition for extra creaminess
Instructions
1. Dissolve the gelatin
In a large mixing bowl, pour the boiling water over the orange Jell-O. Stir for about 2 minutes until completely dissolved.
2. Add pudding mix
Whisk in the instant vanilla pudding mix until smooth and fully combined.
3. Add cold water
Stir in the cold water and mix well.
4. Chill slightly
Refrigerate the mixture for 15–20 minutes, just until it begins to thicken (do not let it fully set).
5. Fold in creamy ingredients
Gently fold in the Cool Whip until smooth and fluffy.
6. Add fruit
Fold in the drained mandarin oranges and crushed pineapple. Add marshmallows or cottage cheese if using.
7. Final chill
Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until fully set and chilled.
Tips & Recommendations
Make sure the fruit is very well drained to prevent the salad from becoming watery.
For best texture, gently fold ingredients instead of stirring vigorously.
This salad tastes even better after chilling overnight.
Serve cold as a dessert or sweet side dish.
Storage
Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Do not freeze, as it will affect the texture.
