Sausage, Rich Gravy, and Biscuit Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 lb sausage
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper (optional)
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (or homemade biscuits)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the sausage in a large skillet over medium heat until browned and fully cooked. Break it into small crumbles as it cooks.
  3. Make the gravy:
    • Sprinkle the flour over the cooked sausage and stir for 1–2 minutes.
    • Gradually add the milk while stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
    • Cook for 5–7 minutes until the gravy thickens.
    • Season with salt and black pepper.
  4. Assemble the pie:
    • Pour the sausage gravy mixture into a greased baking dish.
    • Separate the biscuit dough into individual biscuits and place them on top of the gravy.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy your comforting sausage, gravy, and biscuit pie!
