Ingredients
For the Steak:
- 2 steaks (ribeye, sirloin, or New York strip – about 1 inch thick)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
For the Garlic Butter:
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 2–3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme or rosemary (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the Steak
Remove steaks from the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for 20–30 minutes.
Pat dry with paper towels, then rub with olive oil and season generously with salt and black pepper.
Preheat the Air Fryer
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
Cook the Steak
Place the steaks in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook according to your preferred doneness:
- Rare: 8–9 minutes
- Medium-rare: 10–11 minutes
- Medium: 12–13 minutes
- Well done: 14–15 minutes
(Flip halfway through cooking if desired.)
Make Garlic Butter
In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, and optional herbs until well combined.
Rest the Steak
Remove the steaks from the air fryer and let them rest for 5–10 minutes to retain juices.
Serve
Top each steak with a generous amount of garlic butter. Let it melt over the hot steak, then serve immediately.
Tips
- Use thick-cut steaks for best results
- Do not overcrowd the air fryer
- Letting the steak rest is essential for juiciness
