Hot Ham and Cheese Sliders with Poppy Seed Glaze1
Ingredients
For the Sliders:
- 12 slider buns (or Hawaiian rolls)
- 12 slices of deli ham
- 12 slices of Swiss cheese (or cheddar if preferred)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
For the Poppy Seed Glaze:
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). - Prepare the Buns:
Slice the slider buns horizontally, keeping top and bottom halves intact. Place the bottom halves in a 9×13-inch baking dish. - Layer Ham and Cheese:
Place a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on each bun bottom. Cover with the top halves of the buns. - Make the Glaze:
In a small bowl, combine melted butter, Dijon mustard, poppy seeds, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, and brown sugar. Mix well until smooth. - Pour Glaze Over Sliders:
Pour the glaze evenly over the tops of the sliders, making sure it drips down the sides for maximum flavor. - Bake:
Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake an additional 5–10 minutes, until the tops are golden and the cheese is melted. - Serve:
Remove from oven, let cool for a few minutes, then serve warm. Perfect for parties, game days, or a quick family meal!
Tips
- Use Hawaiian rolls for that sweet, soft slider effect.
- Swiss cheese melts nicely, but a mix of cheddar and mozzarella works too.
- The poppy seed glaze is key—it’s sweet, tangy, and buttery, giving sliders that iconic “restaurant” flavor.
