Homemade Apple Cinnamon Swirl Loaf
Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2/3 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large apple, peeled and chopped (or thinly sliced)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease and flour a loaf pan. - Make cinnamon swirl:
In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon. Set aside. - Cream butter & sugar:
In a large bowl, beat butter and white sugar until smooth and creamy. - Add eggs & vanilla:
Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract. - Mix dry ingredients:
In another bowl, combine flour and baking powder. - Combine everything:
Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet mixture, alternating with milk. Mix until smooth. - Layer the batter:
- Pour half of the batter into the pan
- Add half of the chopped apples
- Sprinkle half of the cinnamon mixture
- Repeat layers with remaining batter, apples, and cinnamon sugar
- Swirl:
Use a knife to gently swirl the cinnamon through the batter. - Bake:
Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. - Cool & serve:
Let cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer to a rack. Slice and enjoy!
Tips:
- Use Granny Smith apples for a slightly tart flavor
- Add chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans) for extra crunch
- Sprinkle a little sugar on top before baking for a crispy crust
