 Old-Fashioned Bread Pudding

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups stale bread (cubed)
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup raisins (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Put bread cubes in a bowl and pour warm milk over them. Let sit 10 minutes.
  3. Add sugar, eggs, butter, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well.
  4. Stir in raisins.
  5. Pour into a greased baking dish.
  6. Bake 40–45 minutes until golden brown on top.

 Creamy Vanilla Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp vanilla

Instructions:

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan.
  2. Add sugars and cream, stir well.
  3. Simmer 5–7 minutes until thick and smooth.
  4. Remove from heat, add vanilla.

 Pro Tips :

  • Use day-old bread for best texture
  • Don’t skip the soaking step — that’s what makes it soft
  • Pour the sauce while the pudding is warm so it soaks in
