Slow Cooker 4-Ingredient Sausage & Beans
Ingredients (only 4!)
- 1 lb (450g) smoked sausage (sliced)
- 2 cans beans (like kidney, white, or black beans), drained & rinsed
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- ½ cup chopped onion
Instructions
- Prepare the sausage
Slice the sausage into rounds. You can brown it in a pan first for extra flavor (optional). - Add everything to slow cooker
Put sausage, beans, onion, and barbecue sauce into the slow cooker. - Mix well
Stir everything so the sauce coats all ingredients. - Cook
- LOW: 5–6 hours
- HIGH: 2–3 hours
- Serve
Serve hot with bread, rice, or even over baked potatoes.
Tips
- You can use any beans you like—many recipes use canned beans for convenience
- Browning sausage first adds deeper flavor, but it’s optional
- Add a little garlic or mustard if you want more taste
