Creamy French Onion Beef Noodle Bake

Creamy French Onion Beef Noodle Bake

Ingredients

  • 12 oz egg noodles
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) French onion soup
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (optional for extra creaminess)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the noodles
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until just tender. Drain well and place them in a baking dish.
  2. Prepare the onion sauce
In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter with olive oil. Add the chopped onion and cook for about 6–8 minutes until soft and lightly caramelized.
  3. Add the soup and broth
Pour in the French onion soup and beef broth. Stir well and let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes so the flavors combine.
  4. Season the sauce
Add garlic powder and black pepper. If you like a creamier texture, stir in the sour cream and mix until smooth.
  5. Assemble the casserole
Pour the onion sauce evenly over the cooked noodles in the baking dish, just like in the picture. Gently mix so the noodles absorb the sauce.
  6. Add cheese
Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
  7. Bake
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 20–25 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Serve
Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve warm.
