Creamy French Onion Beef Noodle Bake
Ingredients
- 12 oz egg noodles
- 1 can (10.5 oz) French onion soup
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream (optional for extra creaminess)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the noodles
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until just tender. Drain well and place them in a baking dish. - Prepare the onion sauce
In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter with olive oil. Add the chopped onion and cook for about 6–8 minutes until soft and lightly caramelized. - Add the soup and broth
Pour in the French onion soup and beef broth. Stir well and let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes so the flavors combine. - Season the sauce
Add garlic powder and black pepper. If you like a creamier texture, stir in the sour cream and mix until smooth. - Assemble the casserole
Pour the onion sauce evenly over the cooked noodles in the baking dish, just like in the picture. Gently mix so the noodles absorb the sauce. - Add cheese
Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the top. - Bake
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 20–25 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly. - Serve
Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve warm.
