Everything Bagel Bits

Crispy, Savory Snack You’ll Want to Make Again and Again

Everything Bagel Bits are crunchy, bite-sized pieces of bread or bagels coated with the classic “everything bagel” seasoning made from sesame seeds, poppy seeds, garlic, onion, and salt. They are buttery, flavorful, and perfect for snacking, party appetizers, or adding a crunchy topping to soups and salads. The best part is that they are incredibly easy to make with just a few simple ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 2 plain bagels (or about 3–4 slices of bread)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes or grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.

2. Cut the bagels

Slice the bagels into small bite-size cubes. Try to keep the pieces similar in size so they bake evenly.

3. Coat with oil

Place the bagel cubes in a large mixing bowl.
Drizzle the olive oil or melted butter over the cubes and gently toss until all pieces are lightly coated.

4. Prepare the seasoning

In a small bowl, mix together:

  • sesame seeds
  • poppy seeds
  • garlic powder
  • onion powder
  • salt

This combination creates the classic everything bagel flavor that is savory, nutty, and slightly garlicky.

5. Season the bagel cubes

Sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the bagel cubes and toss again until everything is evenly coated.

6. Bake

Spread the seasoned bagel pieces in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 15–20 minutes, stirring once halfway through, until they become golden brown and crispy.

7. Cool and serve

Remove from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes. They will become even crunchier as they cool.
