  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice of 1 fresh lemon
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the shrimp
Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt and black pepper.

2. Heat the pan
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat until the butter melts.

3. Cook the garlic
Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30–40 seconds until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

4. Cook the shrimp
Place the shrimp in the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 2 minutes until they start turning pink.

5. Flip the shrimp
Turn the shrimp over and cook another 1–2 minutes until fully pink and opaque.

6. Make the lemon butter sauce
Add the remaining tablespoon of butter, lemon juice, lemon zest, and red pepper flakes. Stir gently so the shrimp are coated in the sauce.
