 Time

  • Prep Time: 15 minutes
  • Cook Time: 6–8 hours (low) or 4–5 hours (high)
  • Servings: 4–6

 Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef stew meat or beef tips
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix (optional but flavorful)
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ cup heavy cream (added at the end)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

 Instructions

  1. Brown the beef (optional but recommended)
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the beef tips for about 2–3 minutes on each side until lightly browned. This adds extra flavor.
  2. Prepare the slow cooker
Place the browned beef tips into the slow cooker.
  3. Add the sauce ingredients
Pour in the beef broth and cream of mushroom soup.
Add the onion soup mix, ranch seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic. Stir well.
  4. Add vegetables
Add the sliced mushrooms and chopped onion and mix gently.
  5. Slow cook
    Cover and cook:

    • Low: 6–8 hours (best for very tender beef)
    • High: 4–5 hours
  6. Make it creamy
About 15 minutes before serving, stir in the heavy cream to create a smooth, rich sauce.
  7. Season and serve
Taste and adjust with salt and pepper. Garnish with parsley if desired.

 Serving Ideas

Serve creamy beef tips over:

  • Mashed potatoes
  • Buttered egg noodles
  • Steamed rice
  • Crusty bread

These sides help soak up the rich creamy sauce.

Tip: Slow cooking works best with cuts like chuck or stew meat because the long cooking time makes the beef extremely tender and flavorful.
