Perfect Ribeye Steak Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 ribeye steaks (about 1-inch thick)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3–4 cloves garlic (crushed)
- 2–3 sprigs fresh rosemary or thyme
Instructions:
Bring to Room Temperature
Remove the steaks from the refrigerator 30–40 minutes before cooking. Pat them dry with paper towels.
Season Generously
Rub both sides with olive oil.
Season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Press the seasoning into the meat.
Heat the Pan
Heat a heavy skillet (preferably cast iron) over high heat until very hot.
Sear the Steaks
Place the steaks in the hot pan.
Sear for about 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust time depending on thickness and preferred doneness).
Butter Baste
Reduce heat slightly. Add butter, crushed garlic, and rosemary/thyme to the pan.
Tilt the pan and spoon the melted butter over the steaks for 1–2 minutes.
Rest the Meat
Remove steaks from the pan and let them rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing. This keeps them juicy.

- Rare: 120–125°F (49–52°C)
