 Bacon Fried Cabbage

 Ingredients:

  • 1 medium head of cabbage, chopped
  • 7–9 oz (200–250g) bacon, cut into small pieces
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (if needed)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • A pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

 Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy.
  2. Remove excess grease if necessary, leaving a little in the pan for flavor.
  3. Add the chopped onion and cook until soft and slightly golden.
  4. Stir in the garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Add the chopped cabbage and mix well to combine with the bacon and onions.
  6. Season with salt, black pepper, paprika, and red pepper flakes if using.
  7. Cover and cook for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender and slightly caramelized.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Tip: For extra flavor, add a splash of apple cider vinegar or a squeeze of fresh lemon juice before serving.
