Valentine’s Night In Slow Cooker Short Ribs

Valentine’s Night In Slow Cooker Short Ribs

Just 4 Ingredients – Tender, Comforting, and Effortless

When you want a cozy, romantic dinner that tastes like it simmered all day (without actually working all day), this is the recipe. The beef turns melt-in-your-mouth tender and the sauce is rich and flavorful.

 Ingredients:

  • 3–4 lbs beef short ribs
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 packet dry onion soup mix
  • 1 cup beef broth

 Instructions:

1. Sear the ribs (optional but recommended):
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the short ribs on all sides for about 2–3 minutes per side until browned. This step adds extra flavor.

2. Add to slow cooker:
Place the short ribs inside the slow cooker.

3. Make the sauce:
In a bowl, mix together the barbecue sauce, beef broth, and dry onion soup mix until combined.

4. Cook:
Pour the sauce mixture over the ribs.
Cover and cook:

  • On LOW for 7–8 hours
    or
  • On HIGH for 4–5 hours

The meat is done when it’s fork-tender and easily pulls apart.

5. Serve:
Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or alongside roasted vegetables. Spoon extra sauce over the top for the best flavor.

 Pro Tip:

If you want a thicker sauce, remove about 1 cup of the cooking liquid at the end, whisk it with 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with a little water, then return it to the slow cooker and cook for another 10–15 minutes until thickened.
