Pineapple Bake Sweet & Buttery Southern-Style Side Dish
This classic Pineapple Bake is a sweet, buttery casserole that’s perfect for holidays, potlucks, or Sunday dinner. It pairs especially well with baked ham or roasted chicken!
Ingredients (US Measurements)
- 1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple, undrained
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 4 tablespoons (1/4 cup) unsalted butter, melted
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 sleeve (about 1 cup) crushed buttery crackers (like Ritz)
- 2 tablespoons melted butter (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish. - Mix the filling:
In a large bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, flour, melted butter, and salt. - Add pineapple & cheese:
Stir in the crushed pineapple (with juice) and shredded cheddar cheese. Mix well. - Pour into dish:
Spread mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish. - Prepare topping:
In a small bowl, mix crushed crackers with 2 tablespoons melted butter.
Sprinkle evenly over the top. - Bake:
Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until golden brown and set in the center. - Cool slightly before serving (about 10 minutes).
