 Monterey Sausage Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) breakfast sausage (pork or turkey)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup Bisquick baking mix (or all-purpose flour)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp salt (optional, depending on sausage)
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • Cooking spray or butter for greasing pan

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9-inch pie dish or baking pan.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, cook sausage and chopped onion until browned. Drain excess grease.
  4. Spread the sausage mixture evenly in the pie dish.
  5. Sprinkle Monterey Jack and cheddar cheese on top.
  6. In a bowl, whisk together:
    • Eggs
    • Milk
    • Bisquick (or flour)
    • Salt, pepper, and garlic powder
  7. Pour the egg mixture over the sausage and cheese.
  8. Bake for 35–45 minutes, until the center is set and the top is golden brown.
  9. Let cool 5–10 minutes before slicing.

Serving Tips

  • Serve warm with toast, salad, or roasted potatoes
  • Add hot sauce or salsa for extra flavor
  • Great for meal prep — reheats well!
