Garbage Bread (Stuffed Pizza Bread Loaf)
A delicious stuffed bread made with pizza dough filled with savory meat, cheese, and vegetables, rolled into a loaf and baked until golden and crispy. Perfect for dinner, parties, or game night.
Ingredients
Filling:
- ½ lb (250 g) ground beef
- 4 slices bacon (or halal turkey bacon / sausage)
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 cup chopped bell peppers
- 1 cup mushrooms (optional)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp burger or pizza seasoning
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Dough:
- 1 tube or ball pizza dough (13–14 oz / 370–400 g)
Topping:
- 1 tbsp melted butter
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp Italian seasoning (optional)
Optional Sauce (For Dipping)
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cook bacon in a pan until crispy; remove and chop.
- In the same pan, cook onion and ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add bell peppers, mushrooms, seasoning, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Cook for 2–3 minutes.
- Stir in bacon and cheeses. Let filling cool slightly.
- Roll pizza dough into a large rectangle on the baking sheet.
- Spread filling evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and seal edges and seam.
- Brush the top with melted butter and sprinkle garlic powder and seasoning.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool for 5 minutes before slicing.
Baking Tips & Instructions
- Do not overfill or the bread may burst.
- Roll dough tightly to keep the filling inside.
- If browning too fast, cover loosely with foil.
- Fully cooked when crust is golden and internal temp reaches 190–200°F (88–93°C).
- Let it rest before slicing so cheese sets.
