Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Ingredients (Makes about 24 cookies)
- 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup (200g) brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2½ cups (315g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1½ to 2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and glossy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
Do not overmix — this keeps the cookies soft. - Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (optional but recommended for thicker cookies).
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough and place them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are golden and centers look slightly soft.
- Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
