Crispy Corn Cheese Bites
Golden, cheesy, crunchy bites — perfect as a snack or party appetizer
Ingredients
- 1½ cups corn kernels (fresh, canned drained, or frozen thawed)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- ¼ cup breadcrumbs (optional, for extra crisp)
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- Salt & black pepper to taste
- 2–3 tablespoons milk (if needed)
- Oil for frying
Instructions
1. Mix the Base
In a large bowl, combine:
- Corn
- Cheddar cheese
- Mozzarella cheese
- Flour
- Egg
- Garlic powder
- Paprika
- Salt & pepper
Mix well. If the mixture feels too thick, add 1–2 tablespoons milk.
2. Shape the Bites
Scoop small portions (about 1 tablespoon each) and roll into balls or flatten slightly into small patties.
(Optional: Roll in breadcrumbs for extra crunch.)
3. Fry Until Crispy
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
Fry bites in batches for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
Transfer to paper towels to drain excess oil.
Optional Air Fryer Method
- Spray bites lightly with oil
- Air fry at 375°F / 190°C for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway
Optional Oven Method
- Bake at 400°F / 200°C for 15–18 minutes, flipping halfway
