Crispy Cheesy Hotdogs Recipe
Ingredients
Hotdogs
- 4 hotdogs
Cheese Mixture
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
For Coating
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko works best for extra crunch)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
For Frying
- Vegetable oil (enough for deep frying or shallow frying)
Instructions
- Prepare the Hotdogs
Pat the hotdogs dry with paper towels. If you like, insert a wooden skewer into each hotdog for easy handling. - Add the Cheese
Roll each hotdog in the cheddar and Parmesan cheese, pressing gently so the cheese sticks well. - Set Up Breading Station
- Place flour in one bowl.
- Beat the eggs in a second bowl.
- In a third bowl, mix breadcrumbs with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Bread the Hotdogs
- Roll each cheesy hotdog in flour.
- Dip into the beaten eggs.
- Coat well with the seasoned breadcrumbs, pressing lightly.
For extra crispiness, repeat the egg + breadcrumb step once more.
- Chill (Important Step)
Place the breaded hotdogs in the freezer for 15–20 minutes. This helps keep the cheese from leaking while frying. - Fry
Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
Fry the hotdogs until golden brown and crispy, about 2–3 minutes, turning occasionally. - Drain & Serve
Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve hot!
