Pancake Sausage Casserole

Ingredients

  • 2 cups pancake mix
  • 1 ¼ cups milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 lb (450 g) breakfast sausage
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • Extra maple syrup for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Cook the breakfast sausage in a skillet over medium heat until fully browned. Drain excess grease.
  3. Spread the cooked sausage evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the pancake mix, milk, egg, and maple syrup until smooth.
  5. Pour the batter evenly over the sausage.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown and set in the center.
  7. Let it rest for 5 minutes, then slice and serve warm with extra maple syrup.
