HOW TO MAKE A MOIST CAKE
PREPARATION
1. CAKE BATTER
• Place the eggs and granulated sugar in a bowl and whisk until frothy.
• Add the vegetable oil and milk and whisk briefly.
• Sift in the cocoa, vanilla, flour, and baking powder.
• Mix with a spatula or mixer on low speed until smooth.
2. PREPARE THE SAUCE
• Place all the ingredients for the sauce (cocoa, oil, sugar, milk) in a saucepan.
• Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves, then remove from heat without boiling.
• Set aside 1 cup of the sauce (to pour over the cake).
3. BAKING
• Pour the cake batter into a greased baking pan or mold.
• Bake in a preheated 170–180°C oven for 30–35 minutes.
• Test with a toothpick.
4. SOAKING
• Wait 2–3 minutes after removing the cake from the oven.
• Pour the reserved sauce over the warm cake.
• You can add the remaining sauce on top when serving.
TIPS
• The cake and sauce will be softer if both are warm.
• For a richer chocolate flavor, add 50–60 g of dark chocolate to the sauce.
• Coconut, nuts, or grated chocolate go very well on top.
