Mango Habanero Chicken Wings (Air Fryer Recipe)
Sweet, spicy, and irresistibly crispy, these Mango Habanero Chicken Wings are the perfect balance of tropical sweetness and fiery heat. Made in the air fryer, they’re lighter than deep-fried wings but just as crunchy—ideal for game day, parties, or an easy weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
Chicken Wings
- 2 pounds chicken wings (drums and flats)
- 1 tablespoon baking powder (for extra crispiness)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
Mango Habanero Sauce
- 1 cup mango puree (fresh or canned)
- 1–2 habanero peppers, finely minced (adjust to taste)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt, to taste
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Wings
Pat the chicken wings completely dry with paper towels. In a large bowl, toss the wings with baking powder, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika until evenly coated.
Step 2: Preheat the Air Fryer
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
Step 3: Air Fry
Arrange wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook in batches if necessary.
Air fry for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and golden brown.
Step 4: Make the Mango Habanero Sauce
In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add mango puree, habanero peppers, honey, lime juice, soy sauce, and garlic powder.
Simmer for 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt to taste.
Step 5: Toss and Serve
Place cooked wings in a large bowl, pour the sauce over them, and toss until fully coated.
